The German Bakery Windsor opened in late 2012 on St Leonard’s Road, the site of the town’s oldest Bakery Bradleys which was first established in 1859. The new owner and baker is (as the name suggests) German; from a long family line of Master Bakers, Her Stefan Hamann has over forty years of experience and offers an authentic selection of German artisan breads baked fresh each night from scratch. Not only are the recipes and Bakers German, but we have been assured all ingredients are also directly imported from Germany, even the packaging is German!

Products include Rye, Wholemeal, Pumpernickel, landbrot and Sourdough breads, along with a good selection of Pretzels, and German Strudel Cakes (Apple, and Blackberry).

The Boutique Bakery location while small serves its purpose, the German Bakery Windsor also has its own fleet of Delivery vans and supplies bakeries and cafes around Berkshire and across London, including the Dorney Court Kitchen and Garden Cafe. A range of German products, cheeses and condiments are also available; Currywurst fans no longer need to trek far for their saucy fix.

We loved their sausage rolls, pretzels and apple strudel! das ist Super! The Germany Bakery Windsor is open weekdays and on both Saturday and Sunday which means you should never be left wanting bread, in short….Wunderbar!
